Cure oven function and arrangement.
The cure oven is intended for the technological process of curing the powder compositions applied to parts, and appears as a one-piece welded construction, whose inner hole is filled with heat-insulating material. The cure oven construction guarantees maintaining attained temperature inside the oven for a long period of time, without heating of the shell.
The opening for loading of parts is equipped with heat-insulated doors that are in turn equipped with heat-resistant molded rubber strips along the perimeter and locking mechanism.
The cure oven heating-up is performed by TEHs on the interior side panels that are shielded by heat-reflecting screens.
A ventilation unit is mounted on top of the cure oven and is intended for forced air circulation with the purpose of maintaining uniform temperature inside the oven, as well as a terminal block for cross-plugging of electrical parts and the control unit.
An exhaust fan is installed in the side face to remove gases accumulated in the process of curing from the oven.
Also, a control panel is mounted on the side face, and near each door backup oven control buttons. Depending on dimensions, the inner volume of the oven is divided into zones equipped with a fan and independent THE control each.
The curing process of powder coating goes by the following pattern:
- A loading carrier with powder coated parts is pushed into the cure oven through the door opening by means of the bottom transportation system. The oven doors are closed and locked by means of a special mechanism.
- The incoming switch is turned on and the PUSH button pressed on the control unit, with the air recirculation fan motor and two groups of TEHS activated, and the oven heating-up begins.
- The thermostatic control of the oven control panel is adjusted to 180°C, 190°C or 200°C, depending on a powder paint type. When the temperature inside the oven reaches 130°C-140°C, powder paint begins to emit volatile compounds in the form of fume. For exhaust of the substances from the oven, the exhaust fan, thats set up to operate for 10 seconds with the gap of 5 minutes, is switched on automatically.
When the temperature inside the oven reaches the level of 5°С-10°С below the preset temperature the 1st group of TEHs is turned off.
When the preset temperature is reached the 2nd group of TEHs is turned off and the timer relay is activated that is set up to 20, 10 or 5 minutes.
When the oven quits the preset conditions, the TEHs, air circulation fan, exhaust fan and sound alarm are activated. When need be, the exhaust fan can be activated at any time before and after the curing mode (180° С) by shifting the switch to MANUAL.
The cure oven control panel
The combination of the cure oven control panel and thermoelectric sensors makes it possible to control the powder coating cure process automatically. As a powder coating facility is classed В-IIa in terms of fire and explosion hazard, according to the Electrical Safety Rules, the control panel corresponds to the protection level of IP54 and can be mounted on the cure oven itself or on the wall near it.
The cure oven performance:
- It takes the oven only 30 minutes to heat up from "cold" to the operating temperature.
- Microprocessor-based work area temperature controls guarantee temperature accuracy of 2 C in the operating space of the cure oven
- The time of powder coating cure is measured automatically, upon completion of the process the cure oven is turned off and the light and sound alarm go off.
- The cure oven active time is 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the time of curing of applied coating and heating capacity of coated parts
